Frequently asked questions

Bariloche, which is the town that will serve as our home base for the tour, is a touristic ski town that has all the infrastructure to welcome international travelers. The flight from Buenos Aires, Argentina to Bariloche is about 2 hours long, and there are several airlines to choose from.

Instructions: Book a flight to Buenos Aires, Argentina (airport code: EZE) then book a national flight from Buenos Aires to San Carlos de Bariloche (airport code: BRC). Give yourselve 2-3 hours between flights, since you will be going through immigration and customs in Buenos Aires before being able to proceed to the Bariloche national flight.

If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact us.

We strongly recommend you bring your own bike. However, if you need a rental, please let us know so we can help connect you with local shops.

The glaciers are most prominent further south in La Patagonia. In Bariloche and its surrounding areas the weather is much more moderate, and the best riding seasons are spring and fall. In these two seasons, it does not snow, as the weather is much milder and perfect for outdoor activities.

We would be happy to shred with you any time of the year. Please reach out to us at info@mtbdownsouth.com so we can plan accordingly.

It’s the opposite of the Northern hemisphere. We can ride spring and fall, which happen Oct-Dec and March-May, respectively.

Spring and Fall days are longer, sunnier days. The air temperature is pretty mild, varying from somewhat warm to somewhat cool, and the rain brings back the classic Patagonian grip to the trails. Check out this link for year-round weather averages:
